Unveilign a New Logo for Great Careers Groups

Unveiling new logo for 2022 for Great Careers Groups (GCG)!

The Philadelphia Area Great Career Group (PAGCG) has rebranded itself as Great Careers Groups (GCG), revealing a newly designed logo to reflect its expansion beyond the Tri-State area, serving individuals nationally and even globally.

Founded in 2010 as a Meetup, the group helps members manage their careers with professional development workshops, career subject matter expert speaker presentations, job seeker support groups, and networking. GCG has grown as a volunteer-run community to over 7,000 members and alumni whose slogan is “Your Career Our Mission.”

In 2015, Lynne Williams, a former K-12 Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware County school teacher, was given the Meetup by its founders, Ford Myers and Eric Kramer. Under Williams’ leadership, and with the support of Immaculata University Master’s Degree Change Management students and mentorship from Chester & Delaware County SCORE, the group incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2017. As an organization serving its communities, the nonprofit status formalized its charitable purpose to help all members manage or advance in their career or obtain employment, maintaining “everyone deserves an opportunity to earn an income.”

As the Executive Director, and with the Board of Directors and numerous volunteers, the organization built a website, social media platforms, established affiliations with libraries and other organizations, and has run about 5,000 events with over 38,000 RSVPs to date.

In 2019, the Nonprofit Consultants Network joined the organization and became the Nonprofit Career Network. In 2020, the Business Executives Networking Group, another nonprofit serving mid to senior-level managers and executives, joined the organization. This new collaboration strengthened its ability to also serve senior-level business leaders with regional chapters based in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia and serves virtual attendees from anywhere.

To date, as a leading professional business networking association, GCG has held about 5,000 meetings and hosted numerous world-renowned authors and speakers. Listed as the #1 Business Networking Association in the Greater Philadelphia Area by The Philadelphia Business Journal in 2020, the newly rebranded organization is poised to build upon its almost 12-year history of “members helping members” to serve audiences throughout the U.S. and beyond.

With a recent grant from the Philadelphia Foundation, GCG has taken advantage of skilled experts who volunteer through Catchafire, so the nonprofit constantly makes improvements. As an organization sustaining itself from a small membership fee and individual donations, sponsorships will enable more programming to serve more people.
