This presentation will take a deep dive into the often overlooked and time-tested strategy job seekers/career changers can use by utilizing recruiting firms/agencies in their search.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will:
1) Learn about and how to find the different types of recruiting firms/agencies (retained, executive, contingency, corporate, temporary).
2) Advise jobseekers on the advantages and disadvantages of each type of recruiting firm/agency and the additional insight they can provide.
3) Gain tips on the most effective ways to work with different types of recruiters.
SPEAKER BIO
In 2024, using his 25 years of experience in the recruiting field, Ira Disman started his own career coaching firm, Cornerstone Career Advising. He is a member of five career counseling associations: Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association (MACCA), Pennsylvania Career Development Association(PACDA), National Career Development Association (NCDA), Career Development Specialists Network (CDSN), and Great Careers Network (GCN). Ira serves on committees for MACCA and PACDA and is a board member of CDSN and GCN. He has facilitated presentations for MACCA, PACDA, CDSN, Drexel University, and Babson College ACT Alumni Career Talk and has written articles on Career Connection.com and vista.today advising clients on how to work with recruiters. His educational background includes a B.S. in Economics from Babson College and an M.B.A. in Human Resources from Drexel.
Ira’s favorite career topics are networking advice, LinkedIn optimization, AI in job search, advising clients how to work with recruiters, resume and cover letter review, interviewing, and offer negotiations.
On a personal level, Ira can be found in the local gym on a spin bike or on a local trail riding his bike. Also, he likes to get his money’s worth on the golf course by hitting as many shots as possible!
