Many job seekers are already using tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Claude, yet still feel frustrated by results that are generic, off-target, or do not sound like them.
This session looks at how most people typically approach AI in their job search and why those default approaches often lead to disappointing results. We will slow the process down and focus on how to set clearer direction from the start so the output is more relevant, more specific, and more personal.
Using common job-search scenarios as case studies, participants will learn how to move beyond one-and-done questions and use AI more intentionally. We will focus on how to guide the tool, respond to its outputs, and refine results without starting over or adding more tools.
The goal is to reduce the overwhelm around AI and help you get set up so the content you create sounds like you, supports your job search, and actually moves things forward.
SPEAKER BIO
Stacy Moore is a professional communication instructor and Certified Career Management Coach (CCMC) with over ten years of experience in higher education. Her background in communication shapes how she understands AI failures, particularly where meaning breaks down between humans and machines.
By working at the intersection of communication, career readiness, and emerging technology, Stacy helps individuals and teams understand why AI tools often produce generic or frustrating results and how small changes in how we guide and respond to AI can significantly improve outcomes.
Bringing a grounded, practical lens to AI use in job search and professional contexts, her work focuses on slowing down, reducing noise, and helping people work with AI in ways that sound more like them and less like everyone else.
Ultimately, job seekers and career teams already have enough to do. Stacy focuses on understanding AI in practice and translating that understanding into practical guidance so it does not become another burden.
