One-hour career education topic speaker from 3:55 PM to 5 PM ET followed by speaker Q&A and optional networking every second and fourth Monday until 6 PM. Monday speaker meetings are free for members and $5 for non-members.

Description of Workshop

Excitement about a job lead. Wait. Hope. Rejection. The ride on the emotional roller coaster of the job search can negatively impact job seekers at all levels and professions. Keeping a positive attitude impacts your energy in the search and your outcomes. Whether you have been struggling with unemployment or just beginning your search, learn about the impact of emotions and practical strategies to cope with the inevitable ups and downs. You will learn experiential mental, emotional and physical techniques that you can use to help you regain or keep a positive attitude.

BIO of Presenter

Karen Litzinger is the author of the recently released award-winning book, Help Wanted: An A to Z Guide to Cope with the Ups and Downs of the Job Search. As a career counselor with decades of experience and as an obsessive fan of daily inspiration books, Karen recognized that clients need tailored emotional support in addition to career change help and job search advice.

Karen has coached thousands of clients, including twenty years in her own business, Litzinger Career Consulting. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Career Counselor and Board-Certified Coach. Karen helps individual clients from high school students through retirees clarify their goals – and reach them. For corporate clients, Karen provides personalized career transition services during downsizing. Karen hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but helps clients across the country remotely.

Karen’s wide-ranging career coaching experience includes serving as consultant for an international outplacement firm and director of a college career services center. Karen also achieved professional status in the National Speakers Association and served as the Pittsburgh Chapter president.
