One-hour career education topic speaker from 8:55 AM to 10 AM followed by speaker Q&A and optional networking every Tuesday to 11 AM. Tuesday speaker meetings are free for members and $5 for non-members.

My mission is to provide a career transition that takes the guesswork out of updating your resume and bring out the positive aspects of change.

MY BACKSTORY:

• I’m a former recruiter for Fortune 500 companies including Johnson Controls, Cummins, GM, Ford, PNC, PPG, Goodrich, Chrysler, Moen, ABB, and Timken.
• Being a recruiter, I’ve seen all of the templated resumes that come out of the resume mills, making one candidate indistinguishable from another.
• I knew innately what recruiters and hiring managers wanted. Unfortunately, the applicants didn’t and that created a disconnect.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After being laid off myself, I turned to what I was mostly doing when I was a recruiter at my old job with my unofficial duties, which were career consulting, interview training, and resume writing. In working together, we’ll:
• Build your resume together.
• Craft your customized cover letter.
• Develop your LinkedIn presence.
• Write your supporting letters – thank you notes, follow-ups, references, and more.
• Strategize together on how to attack your job hunt so it’s as short as possible.

He manages MJW Careers and provides assistance to companies in transition from downsizes to buyouts as well as individual job seekers needing to advance their careers. Matt has a long history working in Human Resources and on recruitment/staffing teams across a variety of industries. He fashions a resume that allows employers to review the applicant’s assets while highlighting his or her accomplishments, showcasing impacts on the employer’s bottom lines using quantitative verbiage, and maintaining brevity.
